Dress to Impress –Â Linda Prescott’s five hot tips on what to wear on that first date.Â
No doubt you’ve heard this little morsel of advice many-a-time when it comes to first dates, but it doesn’t have to be scary – look at it like an adventure! It’s all about knowing who you are, and letting your personality shine through. Of course, this is where clothing, makeup and accessories can all come into it!
One Queensland woman who has had more experience than most is Linda Prescott. Discovering her love of matchmaking couples, and helping women to make their best impressions, she founded her very own company, Ideal Introductions. This week, Linda shares her top five tips on dressing to impress!
Don’t be too revealing
Showing too much skin on a first date can be off-putting and give the wrong idea. Instead, choose one body part to show off, whether it be your arms, legs or cleavage – let his imagination do the rest.
Ensure you work all of his senses. Perfume is a must, but remember not to overdo it!
Don’t over do your makeup! You don’t want to wear so much lipstick that if comes off all over your teeth and detracts from what you’re saying.Â
Make sure you dress to match the occasion. If you’re going on an evening date wear something formal like a dress and pair of heels, or if it’s daytime, keep it casual with jeans and a top. Don’t wear anything uncomfortable though, when he’s talking to you about his ambitions you don’t want to be thinking about your sore feet!
Less is best
When in doubt wear classic, block colours like black, white and blue. Try avoid busy prints!
